Graham
I'm slowly running through the initial pre start up (new engine) checks and this morning it was the turn of the fuel pump. So stuck some petrol in the tank flicked the ignition on and the pump hummed into life. I left it running while I checked around the car for fuel leaks, when I got round back to the boot I noticed a 'feature' the earth feed from the pump had become disconnected but the pump was still running ! so despite all of the rubber mountings clearly the pump was still earthing. I can only assume through the SS PRV pipe to the PRV and then through the fixed copper pipes to the body. On re connecting the earth the pump did run much better but it had me scratching my head for a few minutes !
