Keith P
The engine number, not the VIN number, on my 1980 Solihull TR7 is "RTC2399P 101492" This number is stamped onto a metal plate and glued to the block. I was just wondering if any of the experts out there recognises this style of number on the engine? I suspect it is a reconditioned engine, possibly what used to be called a gold seal engine, that has been fitted.
Alec Pringle
RTC2399 is the part number for a reconditioned 'short engine' or block to UK TR7 specification. The suffix P indicated which version thereof. 101492 is the individual reconditioned block number. Cheers, Alec
