Cheers, Conrad. oh yes.. and here, to prove, are pictures taken when it was just 6 months old in 1968.... but you will notice that it has now gained surrey top and chrome wire wheels ... although it always had overdrive ... As it happens, I asked the original owner (at the time he supplied the pictures) the same question and, indeed, he confirmed that it was a parking light device.
