qim
Hi After sorting out the steering I had the wheels aligned and the workshop found a small problem with the caster (or is it the camber...?) as per the attached results. They suggested that some part of the suspension may have suffered a knock over the years but that the way to correct it is to add a 1.5mm washer to the "Upper Ball Joint" (#13 in the Moss link, below). http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/front-suspension-tr2-3a-tr4.html Could you give me some advice as to whether this is the way to go, or if it is likely to be some known part, so that I could simply replace it, if available? Thank you

Thank you If the addition of a 1.5 mm washer gets the camber the same on both sides you have a win. The issue you have not approached is that the car was originally built with positive camber. The consensus is that up to 3 degrees negative will give improvement in front end handling. The camber can be corrected and adjusted with a top wishbone fulcrum kit. The Revington kit, I am told, was designed to work with their other suspension and steering items moss http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr2-4a/performance-tuning/steering-suspension/adjustable-front-upper-fulcrum-kit.html Revington http://www.revingtontr.com/product/rtr3112k/name/fulcrum-kit-upper-tr2-4 The other way to do it is use 1.5 degree negative camber machined vertical links on the front suspension. TT3003. This was my solution. Moss http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/vertical-link-negative-camber-1-5-tt3003.html You would still may have to add your shim if your chassis or suspension arms are bent.
