john.r.davies
A US friend sent me the link to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv5t2hJNXj0&feature=youtu.be Dated 2016, I don't recall anything about itm and can't find anything about it! That it has the "be" domain name - Belgium - makes me wonder if this was a one off for European visitors. Was it this event that Dave McDonald reported on? http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/59316-oooooophs-cadwell-1718th-sept/?hl=%2Btriumph+%2Bcompetition+%2Bbest+%2Bcadwell+%2Bpark John
MichaelH
This film of the Triumph Competition & British HTGT - race series organised by Christian Marx for TR Register Deutschland.ev They race at about 5 weekends per year at Spa, Zandvooft, Essen and they usually come to GB once a year: they have a practice and at least two and usually three races at the w/e They stipulate that they need an international "C" licence to join in. I think that to enter you have to buy in at the beginning of the year to the whole lot... not sure about that. If Christian Marx sees this he will no doubt correct anything - but I think he is rebuilding his 4liter V8 TR7 so may not be "on the forum" so much Michael Hunter
jellison
Yep I think the one you mention about Dave Mac. That chap usually races about half way up the field in the Triumph Comp series from a google. You can get an entry in the series if you have got an International license. But hard to get and try for one of the series races if only wanting to do one event. which is a real pity but yes most sign up for the full season. Chris will likely come on and explain. Joe Henderson has done a few over the last few years, but think he might have stopped now. You need std brakes (which most of the faster car in UK series tend to have 4 pots), so you have to be prepared to swap over to a std set if you can get and entry, outside of that the rules are fairly like the TSCC or Swing sixties (max rim is a 6.5J though). .V.Good series, just have to commit to a full season to know you will get an entry (which if not living in main land Europe is obviously more of a stretch). One of Chris vids from there series - I won it but only found out about the brake rule just before the race!! Love Zandvoort, hate Cadwell.
john.r.davies
International licence? Usually, a National A is sufficient, if the event is "inscribed" on the MSAs list of foreign entrant allowed races. But that's for us in Europe, not the other way around. Be nice to join in! alan57
Int C certainly used to be necessary - individual entries may sometimes be possible - they were in the past!
john.r.davies
I'm delighted to say that Christian has rapidly replied to my PM and tells me that, "British drivers with national license can join us if we race in England"! Certainly, other Triumphertos and I have fond memories of racing at the 'Ring with the FISC series (see below) But, TR Register Deutchland has no race in the UK this year, so we must look forward to that pleasure another time! John PS It was a while ago - Jon's children are all grown up now! Edited January 19, 2018 by john.r.davies
MadMarx
Hi, have been a while since I was here looking. For sure we accept guest entries and the easiest way is to provide an international C or international historic license. The only exception is, if we are racing in a European country, locals from there can race with national license. To keep racing costs low, we have excluded some tuning stuff like alternative brakes. Back in time the racing group decided to limit performance tuning to keep the grid together for close racing. Many things are similar to CSCC. Maybe the biggest difference in rules is that cars over 3L need to maintain their stock carburation. This doesn't count for FIA cars. They just need to respect the FIA K rules. As far I know, Hendo will show up again this year and will do some races. Nice man and good racer. For interest...the rules from last year: http://www.triumph-competition.de/images/documents/2017/2017-FIA-TC-Reglement-en.pdf Calender: http://www.triumph-competition.de/images/documents/2018/TC-Termine-2018-Poster.pdf Cheers Chris Edited January 20, 2018 by MadMarx
roy53
I trust that we will get to race at the summer classic together at SPA as the cscc and Christians friends in the Triumph competition are usually in the same race ? Roy
MadMarx
So it will happen.
jellison
Looks like a good calendar Chris. I doubt I'll be able to make any this year (TR6 needs and engine refresh and 4 has the Ali (Moss) head which UK series do not cares about, (found a suitable one to modify for racing, but very low down the list of things to do this year) and it is running great just now so not touching! I see your 4 is back up and running from the Zandvoort and Dijon 17 video's. Watched a Dijon one from Marcel VM's car (battling with you till he spun off on last lap)). Very strange driving style(!), rather you racing him than me. Dijon looks like a great track. Gonna have to get there some day.
