Guest
LHD isn't popular in the UK. Auctioning it on a UK auction isn't reaching for the right potential customers. No person from the Continent will make the trip & hassle of the UK auction rules. UK buyers can choose from lots of RHD TRs. Selling it on eBay to the Continent is a better option! Having said that: the seller should be more clear about selling and shipping outside the UK. Menno Edited May 5, 2017 by Menno van Rij
Alec Pringle
I'm surprised that the auctioneers can get so enthusiastic about the mechanical condition when the seller advises that "FROGGY will need to be Run Inn as all work has been garaged base and not road tested." A bunch of new parts doesn't necessarily make for a 5 star mechanical condition, not in my view anyway. Cheers, Alec
rhino_mac
If you're following the Triumph TR3 Facebook group the chap that owns the car has posted it up on there. A quick nose on his timeline shows some of the restoration process and the car as he bought it. His name is David Orne. It's all been done at at his house and has been painted by him, but it looks like a decent amateur restoration. The floors etc in particular looked solid.
Kevinc
Looks like it sold for £22,
rhino_mac
I don't think so. He posted a picture up yesterday of him and "Froggy" on the "Classic British Cars" Page at a meeting over the weekend so he still owns it.
Kevinc
Rhino_mac, you are correct. This page shows it as "unsold" so it didn't make the reserve price.
Glynn Hobbs
As Alec said, just goes to show that the 'devil is in the detail'. I have seen many 'NUT & BOLT REBUILDS', that quite frankly, required starting from scratch again!
