I went through various checks and ultimately swopping the two diodes over proved to me that one was clearly faulty as the flashing side also changed. I've bought a replacement diode from Polevolt (having a minimum order value unfortunately ) and the system is up and running. It's quite a nice small system so I'm pleased with it now its working properly. Hope I don't have to use it but it's there if needed. Many thanks for all of your help.
