pjc615ukuk
Hi All. I thought an injector had failed, and st about to replace it. Whilst replacing the offending injector I've discovered a pin hole in the injector pipe, which was merrily squirting a fine spray of fuel as far as the battery! Left to its own devices I shudder to think of the consequences... No problem I thought - until I searched for a replacement online. I'm hoping someone can confirm that these pipes can be purchased individually???? It appears they come in sets of six at over £220! Can anyone prevent a sleepless night - please???? pjc615ukuk
Brilliant thank you soooo much! The only downside is I was hoping to get my hands on a replacement tomorrow. Am I right thinking these are generally only sold in sets then?
astontr6
Hi pjc In my experience its usually best to replace the lot? If the fittings are rusty i.e the zinc & pass. plating has gone that is a sign that they have been on there a long time. As to buying them singly? but I have never dealt with Neil Ferguson? To date I have always made up my own! Bruce
DaveN
Is the leak near to the end? If so you could shorten it!
pjc615ukuk
AstonTR6 I've ordered the replacement now fromNeil Ferguson. In response to AstonTR6. The pipes are less than two years old as the car underwent a full restoration and hasn't done 3000 miles since! I'm just hoping it was just a faulty pipe? pjc615ukuk
Is the leak near to the end? If so you could shorten it!Daven. The leak was almost at the end of the pipe, and no doubt it could be shortened to fix the problem. However, I'm clueless, and wouldn't trust any 'repair' that I had a hand in! Cheers! Peter

aardvark
If you are heavy handed cutting the old pipe off the fitting then you could score the fitting surface. This then serves as a leak path for the pressurised petrol. This happened to me not long ago when I trusted the job to someone else to do. So I would recommend that you inspect the fittings for scoring before reusing. Dave

GT6M
the pipes owa the yers, go brittle, and as they are force fitted owa the union, then they pipe becomes thinner in that bit after a while, they change shade,so ye no they gonna spring a leak v v easy to doo, no need for a 200£ set some ones tek,n yer pish there me tinks as was said above, 2 bits of hard wood, or ally will suffice drill a hole slightly smallet than pipe so wen its clamped int vice, it,ll grip the pipe leave a wee bit stik,n oot the end, and then, wid a wee bit of lube, tap the fitting into pipe 5 min tops job, once ye no what yer up too And,as said above, be very very care full no to score the barbs ont fittings, they will leak alottttttt M
