qim
The repair/paint people forgot to insert the last peg on either side of the car. In fact, they closed the holes altogether, I have been looking at the catalogues of Rimmer and Moss and see that there are about three different types and wonder which is the correct one. By the last peg I mean the one closest to the doors. Thank oyu

qim
Hi thanks This is what's getting me confused. What are these others for? http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/p-19-lift-the-dot-fastener.aspx
bob-menhennett
The Lift the Dot system was used on a number of different Manufacturer's cars , not just Triumphs. They can be used on wooden framed cars where a screw fixing is more appropriate. Bob
Lebro
Depending on the age of your car you may have the woodscrew type fitted along the top of the dash, & in the doors for the tonneau fixing. Early cars had a timber inside the steel. Later cars did not have this, so needed a nut & bolt type fixing. Bob.
qim
Thanks Bob So, I need a nut and bolt for this particular vanished hole in the rear wing just past the door.
Lebro
Have a look at the inside of the area to fit a peg (remove trim if fitted) if no wood, then use nut & bolt type. if wood use woodscrew type. This applies everywhere in the car. Bob

Ian Vincent
Do you need a photo to show you where to position the hole or can you see it from the inside? Rgds Ian
TR 2100
If this query is about the first fastener to the rear of the door, be aware that the location was changed during production. Make sure you get the right location for your tonneau. With the quarter panel trim removed, you should be able to see the hole location. AlanR
qim
Do you need a photo to show you where to position the hole or can you see it from the inside? Rgds Ian That would be great. They closed it and now, I expect, they will need to guess it by the position of the hood. Many thanks Edited March 19, 2017 by qim

Many thanks To put the nut on the inside of the new peg you will have to remove the trim anyway, so you may see where the hole was when you do that. Bob.
