qim
What is the correct position of the switch? Off/Up; On/Down? or the opposite? Edited March 16, 2017 by qim

TR4ffic
I've got the egg-shaped style switch. Down = On. Dash mounted just to right of steering wheel so that I can engage/disengage O/D with index and second fingers without taking hand off the wheel. http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/switch-overdrive-egg-shaped-112474.html

ianc
In the UK, any light switch or 13A power switch has down = ON. I believe the Americans have it the other way about. Fit a Logic Overdrive control system and use a momentary contact switch, then you'll experience the real joy of an overdrive box! Ian Cornish

North London Mike
Austin Healey Works style gear knob switch UK light switch rules (up/off-down /on) Using grey matter as pro logic and flick in/out with thumb whilst changing gear, almost as quick as Ian ! Ian Vincent
I have the old egg shaped switch along with a logic box and a little light which tells me when the logic box has dropped the overdrive out because I have changed gear - works a treat and means that moving from O/D 3rd to 4th to O/D 4th is smooth as silk. Rgds Ian Oh, and up is off, down is on

monty
Hi Mike any Link to that Healy type Knob. Dennis Welch Healeys or Racetorations do a nice alloy item with facility for push button for O/D use. I have one that works very well with the logic system. Cheers. Lebro
I think qim was only asking which way up to fit the switch he already has ! Bob.
qim
Hi Lebro My egg-shaped switch was taken out to be repainted and now the electrician fitted it in a different way: before up was off, and now it is the other way round!
Lebro
Easy to turn it around if you want to, but not realy a major issue I would suggest - either way up is fine. Bob.
qim
If you turn it around the letters will be upside down! I mean the letters will be on the inside. Edited March 17, 2017 by qim

Fireman049
The letters on my o/d switch are on the inside. (Up ~ Off. Down ~ On). Tom.
