Staffs Man
Can anybody please identify my speedo head,it's fitted to a Ex USA TR3a 1960 seems a bit of a strange beast !!!. The face markings are Z47614 1000 rpm I presume. Here's hoping Staffs Man.
iain
This would suggest a lower ratio diff than standard? 1180rpm is normal for 3.7:1 diff. 1300rpm is correct for a 4.1:1 diff Iain
Lebro
the "1000" marking indicates that 1000 turns of the input cable = 1 mile travelled. (1000 TPM) This is not what TR's use, they would be1180 or close to. Could be Triumph 2000 Bob. Edited February 20, 2017 by Lebro
Alec Pringle
1000 turns applied to standard TR gearbox and wheels would indicate a very high diff indeed - 3.15. I suspect this speedo might have come from one or another small Triumph . . . . Spitfire, GT6,or one of the small saloons . . . . with overdrive. Cheers Alec
