Lebro
Just done an oil & filter change on the '3. On the last change I fitted a spin on oil filter adaptor (Purolator type) from Rimmers Part No. RF4022. The old filter was removed without spilling a drop, & the new one, once fitted, shows no sign of leaking anywhere. So much easier & cleaner than the old cartridge type. Bob. peejay4A
+1 and with the HP2009 K+N filter it's even easier.
Lebro
Yep, that's the sort I put back in, with the hex protrusion on the base to take a spanner. Bob.
Don H.
Interesting, isn't it, that a number of modern engines have gone back to cartridge filters. My Lexus RX350 has such a filter -- a tiny little thing compared to our TRs. A few years ago I had to take it back to the (excellent) shop who does all my real-car work because of an oil leak, due to the o-ring not being seated properly when the canister housing was remounted. Some things never change.
Chris Hubball
Hi Pete Who supplied you K & N filter? .The web sites of the usual TR suppliers do not seem to recognise the HP 2009 number or the one in the Moss catalogue. Cheers Chris

foster461
I think that's exactly what it was, Stan! Too funny. You should take him an old dental pick and tell him back in the day this is what we used to fish out the old o-ring.

Dave Larnder
Bob I buy the local ones as K&N aren´t available here for €7.00 but no bottom nut for the spanner, I still use the old leather strap method. Dave
