Evening all

I've just reached the stage of attempting to start my TR4 after a lengthy rebuild and I have a problem with the fuel pump. As part of the work I rebuilt the original pump with a rebuild kit, diaphragm, valves, gaskets etc., but it didn't function so I took it to bits again and found that the rubber seal around the push rod was falling to bits. As I struggled to find a replacement I decided on a new pattern pump. I have now fitted this but still no luck. I have compared the dimensions etc. for the arm that goes on to the cam shaft and it appears to be correct and when I prime the pump with the lever it fills the glass bowl up effectively. But when I crank the engine over nothing comes out of the outlet.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Phill

I'd say it's gotta be the cam lever.

Perhaps a small chance it's the diaphragm not fully locked into the lever. Can't see that the push rod seal has much to do but keep oil out of the system -- all the fuel should be on top of the diaphragm.

Since priming works, it can't be the one-way valves.
