Prospect
I need to remove the chrome trim at the top of the door to deal with some small rust spots. Would really appreciate any advice on best way to get it off before I just stick a putty knife underneath and lever it off.
RogerH
Hi A putty knife would not be far off a way of doing it. Use a broad blade towards one end and gently leaver up. Plastic would be good. Roger
stillp
An old credit card will do it. Pete

Prospect
Thanks guys, removed from all but last few inches easily with thin plasticbetween and a putty knife. Last "stud" required brute force as restorers in the 1990's had obviously run out of the "studs" and brazed a rod on the trim to go into the door skin instead. Trim now slightly dented but expect recoverable with some effort.
RogerH
Hi, that end pin should be there. It places the trim the correct place. It should simply pull out from the hole in the door. Roger
Prospect
Hi Roger, Thanks for the information. It did not simply pull out required a lot of force although I now the why it is there I know what to expect when I take the other side off. Tony
