TR4 Wishbone Arms

Recommended Posts

I have a set of TR4 front wishbone arms. Having removed all the paint from the upper arms there is no mark saying "Top". I understand that these are to be placed "Top" up, and that they are handed ?. ( Ref Moss. Gives one part number, suggesting each side is the same ). Is there any way how I can tell I have the arms in the correct location. Clarification of the bottom arms location would also be helpful.

Thank you . Russell

If you have the 0degree trunnion setup then the top arms have the open side down, if you have the 3degree trunnions then the longer top arm goes to the front. Bottom arms have the stud for the spring pan fitted to the inner hole facing downwards and they are 2 shapes one is R/Hand front/L/Hand rear and should have part number106577 moulded on it and the other is L/Hand front/R/Hand rear with part number106578 moulded on it.

The easiest way to solve this is just to fit them.

If the vertical link lines up with the ball joint it is correct, if it does not then guess what.

Joking aside the position of the vertical link is determined by the use of either 0deg or -3 deg trunnions. I will assume that you have 3deg as the 0deg is for a 3a with a steering box.

with the top ball joint bolted in place between the top wishbones offer up the VL. The VL will either be aligned with the ball joint or it wont.

Failing that the biggest WB goes at the front.
