MOT time again

Recommended Posts

This morning the 4A passed what I calculate to be its 48th test, this time with no advisories. "I should think so too" said swmbo, "The amount of time you spend on it!". The tester did comment that the tickover, albeit smooth, was a little low. You and I know that if I tweak it too high then running on could be an issue.

I was a bit surprised and disappointed to see that my mileage in the TR over the last year was only 3,404, the lowest I can recall for a very long time. the main reason was that for once my car remained in the garage last September for Club Triumph's 2,000 mile Ten Countries Run, for a change I shared Howard Pryor's very nice TR4 on this event.

Don't worry about the mileage Tim! I only did around 3000 miles last year in one car & only around 1000 in the other! Would do more if weather better & damn roads in better condition!

My car has done zero miles this summer because it's been impossible to open the garage doors due to building work. Some of that work does include an upgrade from a single to a double garage though so there is an upside. The question is, what to fill the space with. Another TR, a k series midget, Harley bobber, classic 911.. Or stop dreaming and just accumulate a bit more junk!

Buy another classic to fill the space Stuart! Money is no good in a bank with interest rates as they are, especially if you have just been clobbered like I have by Santander! You know it makes sense!

3000 miles this year!? I've just about done that since September '79, I think I must change my user name to 'paranoidman'. She does seem surprised I've still got it & not polished it away though. It does do its annual government inspection & a couple of local shows
