TR4A1965
I still have a few things to do like fine tune the door and bonnet fit - hopefully next week but......DaDaaaahhhhh! My TR4A passed the UK MOT test and we are back on the road. You can see it going through the MOT test here: http://tr4a.weebly.com/triumph-tr4a-mot-test.html The pic attached in this post is the reaction of the MOT guys when they saw the engine bay:-) Summer here we come! tim hunt
Super looking car Paul, you must be very proud. I have to confess to not having followed the rebuild minutely and this point may have been covered but I was intrigued to note from the MOT video that the ARB is mounted to the front face of the radiator protection shield, not the under surface as per factory fit on the TR6. Was there a particular reason for this? Tim
peejay4A
The TR4A arb mounts differently to the TR6, the radiator shield is different. You can fit the TR6 radiator shield to the 4A chassis and then fit a TR6 arb. As I've done. Edited May 27, 2016 by peejay4A
tim hunt
Yes Pete, I did the same as you on my 4A and swapped my original radiator shield for a TR6 one with the U bolt holes. It was a long time ago but I seem to recall that the 4A shield was almost identical to the 6 but without those holes. Tim
