RHD Pedal Box for TR250 - Any Alternatives?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am looking for a RHD pedal box for my TR250 conversion to RHD, but having difficulty in locating one.

Has anyone looked at an alternative to solve this issue? I would be pleased to hear from anyone who either has a RHD pedal box or knows a way around this problem of not having one. (I am sure someone will tell me to leave it as it is - Lol)

Thanks for your help, as always.

Dave.

Hi Dave,

a couple of years years back I sold a rhd TR7 pedal box, subsequently gathered that the chap had cut and shut it to fit a lhd USA 4A - don't ask me how, but apparently it wasn't a huge job.

I may have a rhd Wedge pedal box left if it's any help and all else fails ?

Cheers

Alec

Hi Neil,

Thanks for that, that is what I was looking for essentially for the past couple of years, but they are a bit thin on the ground.

Thanks for that offer Paul. I'll send you a PM later today

Thanks Alec for the offer of a 7 one. I'll look into that and make some enquiries.

Thanks Roy. I am not averse to going none standard if necessary.

Thanks everyone.

The pedal box itself is the same on all TR5/6 models - RHD or LHD

The pedals are different, generally brackets in different places and cranked differently. It is possible to fabricate them from the LHD components subject to good engineering practice and welding.

Alternatively, re manufactured items are available from specialists, cost circa £120 for the pair from Moss. One is on back order.

Don't forget to get the bracket that the clutch master cylinder sits on as its a completely different set up on the RHD models. Can be modified from a Herald / spitfire

You will also need a different throttle pedal assembly for an 'original style' set up. I've made those as well but that was complex by comparison to the other two pedals.

Oh yes, and I would leave it LHD !

Hi Steve,

Thank you for those detailed notes and indeed, handy to note that some Spitfire parts can be modified as they can be a little easier to get hold of sometimes.

I have considered leaving it LHD, but still looking into the conversion process and what is involved. A made down the road converted his successfully and he is an engineer so I do have someone I can call on for assistance and another brain.

Thanks very much.

Dave
