Hood Choice

So first, we are going with RED not BLACK!

 

I know that may be a shock but we have decided. (It was the car I got married in and it had a red hood on the day so we need a red hood now - you get the picture:-)

 

Anyway, Mohair of vinyl?

 

I have heard that the vinyl is a better choice for a TR4A?

 

Then???? Where should I buy it from?

 

I need to get it ordered very fast as I am running out of time on the build as the car is required on the road so any quick fix to getting a hood would be welcome? I see some suppliers have an 8 week delivery time - this would kill me right now.

Hi Paul,

my TR4 is Royal Blue and everybody offered ideas as to colour but I chose red as I thought the red and blue combo would look good.

Thankfully Sue is on the same wave length.

 

I got mine from Jon Skinner, It is either Mohair or Diddly Duck.

Not sure what his timescales are like at present but a couple of years ago it was about 8 weeks+

Roger, he is 8 weeks which busts the time budget???

 

I got my interior from him. Arrived yesterday and now with trim folk.

 

Otherwise he would be great choice.

 

Boxofbits - great gag:-) The red seems to take a while from the Don folk and Rimmer Bros want nearly £700 for mohair! Yikes!

 

I read somewhere that vinyl was the way to go but is this right???
