Graham
Just admiring my newly acquired 718787 4 hole centre switch plinth and I notice that it is missing the bracket that is used to hold the lever for the scuttle vent lid is this correct and does anybody know how to overcome this. I'm guessing for 125 cars this is not an issue as the lid changed to a vent but I'm keen to keep the lid …if I can ATB Graham
Graham
Ah Answered my own question its not the vent lid bracket its just a support bracket which was probably a bit of Triumph over engineering so don't think its needed anyway ATB Graham

peejay4A
Is that by any chance the bracket that provides extra support for the choke cable on a 4/4A?

BlueTR3A-5EKT
orig 718787 was made with the bracket - plus - It had 5 holes in the metal backplate but only 4 in the plastic - I still have the tools to mofify a 4 hole to a 5 hole which I used for over 10 years at C&B, This was to satisfy the demand of customers with the earlier non steering lock car, the ignition switch being in the switch plinth 5th hole. The bracket is there to stop the switch plinth assy being pulled out of position when the choke cable is operated. Peter W
Colin Gardiner
Graham Just found out that the TR6 I restored between 1983 and 1985 is still around and that you may be the registered keeper. Reg BUO536L. It was originally white but I had is resprayed Sapphire Blue. I have loads of photos of the rebuild that you might be interested in. If possible I'd love to come and see the car. I've often dreamt that I still owned it! Just posted a few rebuild photos on the TR6 Facebook group Regards Colin Gardiner
