Peter Nyberg Posted October 9, 2015 Report Share Posted October 9, 2015 Hello, I´ve submitted a picture of my TR4 cylinder head with an aluminum(?) plug encircled in yellow. Just recently I´ve discovered coolant seepage around the plug. Do you know where I can get hold of a new plug - and - how do I replace it? Is it threaded? You screw the end one in and then saw it off. It is the same as the two oil gallery plugs Use Hylomar to seal. Roger Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Didn´t notice item 15 until just now. This is probably yet another sign that I´m getting too old to be tinkering with these old cars by myself. Stanpartmanpartwolf Posted October 9, 2015 Report Share Posted October 9, 2015 The oil gallery plugs are 3/4"UNF. The cylinder head plug is an oddball fine 1" thread. Moss' coarse-threaded plugs fit their own repro heads, but not originals. Hylomar is not a great thread (or anything else IMHO) sealant. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
