Personal message system failed?

Recommended Posts

Last week a member and I found that neither of us could receive PMs, as our mailboxes "were full".

I have one message in mine.

And then in a thread, two other members had the same problem: http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/53161-tr6-rolling-road-testing/

"Once is coincidence" - you know the rest.

Thanks John, I picked this up in your moderators report, but not having the technical skills to resolve it myself, passed it on to Wayne. I'm sure he is recovering from a pretty hectic schedule over the weekend and will be onto it as soon as he comes up for air!

Thanks again

Ian

Hi John,

Each account has a storage quota, keep an eye on the status of the quota on the left hand side of the toolbar in the PM's area. Yours was full. I have asked the system to remove permanently all your deleted items and purge the Trash which may or may not help you depending on how many there were! - only you can see that. When your inbox is full you will see the below message:

100% of your quota (50 messages)

Please go through and delete any unwanted conversations to get that quota down to around 50% and your PM system will come back online with plenty of 'headroom' for future conversations.

I have replied here as a reference to any other users experiencing the same.

Thank you Wayne! Especially for posting here with instructions.

I fear that this little facet of the board may be frustrating many a PM conversation!

I have deleted all my previous messages there, so 'open for business'.

John
