PGB BME
Hi Purchased a TR7 V8 earlier this year, battery located in engine bay, but now knackered, does anyone have any recommendations regarding size and rating of new battery, would like to keep it in the engine bay. acaie
I bought Exide EA655 Premium (005R) 65Ah 580A CCP a few months ago. £71.95 from Plymouth Battery Centre Ltd plymbatt.co.uk. Fitted in the engine bay. Fine, whizzes the engine over a treat.

PGB BME
Hi Both Thanks for the reply, noticed that the battery width is 170 mm ish for both, the battery tray is only around 140mm wide, 170mm ish takes the battery over and towards the manifold, how have you secured the battery? Alec Pringle
Put the battery in the boot, it's out of harm's way, you can fit a proper size jobbie, and it's a tad more weight where it's needed . . . . . Cheers Alec

Phil It just hangs over the edge of the tray a bit, and held in place by the usual hooks, just like its predecessor which came with the car. However, I can't disagree with Alec, the boot is the best place.
bonnietiler
Sorry mate I incorrectly assumed that the battery you wanted went in the boot. My mistake Bonnietiler
