New 25D distributor

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the distributor on my 64 4 and am thinking of getting one from the TR Shop London, made in India em has any one had one of these and what are they like. Other things that I have purchased from them have been good but if anyone can let me know how good they are it will be very much appreciated

The only problem I had with my cheap distributor from EBay, which I used while DD repaired my original, was that the micrometer timing adjuster was a bit limited in range of adjustment. So not a problem at all really. In other respects it was fine and is now my emergency spare stowed next to the fuel tank.

Hi Ian,

distributors go on and on for years. Eventually it will need servicing/repairing. This should be done properly. For the short period it is away or for an emergency an ebay cheapo should get you through.

I think my dodgy CB was unlucky.

I did the same as Pete and put on a cheapy while the original was being built, only problem I had was the points closing up after about 1000 miles due to premature wear, but it's a useful spare to have at hand although I wouldn't use one as a permanent fix.

Since distributor failure stops the car dead, surely it has to be one from the Distributor Doctor.

Yes I would agree Ian but I think they were just using some foreign thing to use while it was away @ DD.

Cheers.
