cotswold
A little help please. The ******y bodyshop I went to ruined my nice dash pad by peeling it back over itself and splitting it. I have Googled and found a splendid new one on offer (original grain and foam former) from a supplier in the USA at a very reasonable $118 HOWEVER the total including postage to the UK is £208 (and the ad doesn't even mention customs import duty and VAT). Have you noticed how well Triumphs and British Sports cars are provided for in the US? Anyway does anyone know anywhere in the UK where I can buy a replacement Dash Top complete with foam former? I am not up to re-trimming myself as the ones I have seen look too home made for my liking. Thanks guys Charles

TR 2100
Charles, There are repair kits that can work wonders, although it obviously depends on the extent of the split. A black glue/goo is used which is then imprinted with the same grain effect as the original. It would need a bit of practice to get it right (or let the professionals do it). AlanR Hi Roger, Do you know where from? Mine has a 2" split near the screen frame. Thanks, Dave
RogerH
Hi Dave, you may do well by PM'ing Alan as it was his post. Roger
TR 2100
Dave, I don't have hands-on experience but I have seen the product advertised and it seems to do what it says on the box. There were about three fairly minor splits similar to the one you describe - two in the crash pads and one in the dash top, when I gave TR 2100 to TR Enterprises for restoration. Now, I really cannot see where the cracks were. There must be someone out there who knows the name of the stuff - anyone? AlanR
dave-lewis
Sorry Roger it was meant for Alan. A slight loss of concentration, unfortunately down to old age!! Why do I need to PM Him? Regards, Dave
RogerH
Hi Dave, there appears to be a number of cross wires here. I suggested PM'ing Alan for Alan to give his reply. However Alan has now replied so no need for the PM. Life can be so complex. Roger
TR 2100
Roger, Just trying to save time, especially as I don't know the name of the stuff - hoping someone does and adds it to the thread. AlanR
