CliveG
My TR3a came to me with a reproduction fuel pump fitted. It leaked like a sieve and the car constantly smelt of petrol. I know others have similar problems so thought I would share this. There is an American seller on eBay selling original AC pumps. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291468683702?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I bought one which cost £16 plus the same again in postage. It arrived promptly and was as described. Luckily it escaped any attention from Customs & Excise. I then sent it to Dave Davies as recommended by others on here. Within 48 hours I had the pump back fully refurbished looking as good as new and he only charges £50!! He also sorted out a problem I had with the inlet connection by sending me some fittings. He is a great bloke to deal with, cannot recommend him highly enough. Net result a good as new original pump for £80ish. And no more leaks!
Richardtr3a
The forum will get you an answer to all your TR troubles and at the bar there is also some very useful information on almost anything else. When it comes to the distributor do not think of anyone except The Distributor Doctor in Somerset. He sorted out a 20 year problem for me. Dave's fittings for the petrol pipe are very useful because you end up with the olive in the correct position instead of balanced on the end of the pipe. Good luck Richard & H
Alec Pringle
Dave is one of the real TR nuggets, 100% bloke. Cheers Alec
