swood1
Hi all, My bonnet shows signs of damage approx 8inches from the top. The metal has actually split on one side only. I am wondering what others have done to reinforce this area. I have been looking at buying some sheet metal and shaping it to support the corner, the obvious option is to weld a plate in place but I am curious if anyone here has experience with PU adhesives and if this could be a sensible approach to reinforcing this area. stuart
I fit re-enforcing plates to all of those type of bonnets as its a favourite weak spot. Revingtons do the plates ready made up though I make my own. I always spot weld them in so they look like they are original though I suspect they could be bonded in no problem. Stuart. glasgow4a
I found that the moss ones metal was too thin and the wrong shape, so as stuart did I made my own, Ian.

swood1
Hi Stuart, I appreciate your offer but do you have any pics showing panel in situ first. As I may be able to make sense from that. Otherwise I may like to take up your kind offer. Steve
