Hi John,I used some clear heavy duty platic sheeting from B&Q. Sold in the building material section in various sizes. I think its used provide a water tight temorary seal for window opening and the like during construction. Glued it on to the door frame in a few spots around the edge, then cut through for the window and door handles, then trimmed to a neat edge around the outside, before putting the door card on to keep it all in place. Very neat and simple solution.

Hi John,

the plastic sheet (as fitted by ST) is not attached to the door card or between the card and door chassis.

It is attached to the window regulator and hangs down.

This way and water coming in through the outer weather strip on the window does not get at the regulator or door workings.

I use a one piece sheet but I think the original is two or three pieces.

Thinner is better than thicker to allow for window movement and crumpling.

The original water curtains on a 4a are in three pieces and are clipped up inside the main door shell where the inner weather strip is also clipped and at each end are wrapped round behind the door window slides and held there by the mounting bolts for the slides.
