pfenlon
couple of pics of the TR4 CT392. I have tried to fit a pair of original alloy windscreen finishers without success, even the plastic insert won't go in the rubber is so tight. Any ideas to help please. RogerH
Hi Pete, Join the club. Somebody has pointed out that the profile of the plastic insert has changed and is tight. However the gap in the rubber is very tight before you start. last year I spent 2 or 3 hours pressing it in very very slowly. I opened the slit out with a big screwdriver and pressed the insert in as far as it would go and then tap it in with a rubber hammer. soapy water/vaseline may be helpful Roger
dpb
I think I did that in bed this morning. But without the screwdriver.
Mark69
Yeah ,but I bet you didn't have the stamina to last 2/3 hours like Roger did
Guest ntc
The rubber is the problem, you need to find a good source.
stuart
New Moss front screen runners are better than any of the others, its not the profile of the finisher that is the problem, its the slot in the rubber. Stuart.

Stuart. Is it possible to open the slot with a stanley blade, anyone tried it?
mandarawessels
put the finisher in before you put the window in.

pfenlon
here is the problem... Now thats disappointing, judging from the picture I need another type of rubber entirely. will open it up and see if its as per the pic.
Guest ntc
Cut it and you will also find it short in length.
Geko
Backtracking a bit: this pic is from a backlight rubber - I faced the problem- but I'm not so sure about the windscreen - no problem for me. Edited February 15, 2015 by Geko
