TR4 Front wing fitting

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Excuse my ignorance but may I ask if the front wing filler section like the one at http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-850457

simply bolts into place or whether it is meant to be welded to either the front vallance or the wing itself.

I have taken a wing off to treat rust and my sections were stuck to the wing with rust and sealant.

Thank you in anticpation

Mark

OK so it looks like these should have been welded on before - but now that my wings are fully painted would it be a great loss if these parts were bolted to the front upper valance and simply 'stuck' to the wing panel? Surely there must be a way around this in case someone fits fibreglass wings?

They were indeed welded on but I have seen loads of cars where they have been either missing or bolted on afterwards, If you use some good sealant like a non setting windscreen sealant then that is OK if you have to fit them afterwards. Its mainly to stop mud coming from the wheels out through the grill.

Stuart.

Yes.

I think the earlier response advising bolt-on

was due to misreading the question which

refers to the fuller piece, not the wing itself.

Spot on Alan, I must try harder, apologies MKTR.
