bonnietiler
My car has a TR8 rack but an SD1 engine and the union to the high pressure side on the pump has sprung a rather spectacular leak, all contents down my Close, resulting in very heavy steering! It is the hollow connector that screws into the pump on the high pressure side that holds a copper flange into the afore mentioned, the flange part is no more, so leaks like a proverbial, I'm assuming that the pipe is an SD1 unit, the flexy pipe is fine its literally just the copper end (about 12cm) that is defective. Any ideas before I flush the Grand-Childrens inheritance down at Rimmers (£110!) Cheers Brian
Steve R
You could take the bits to a local branch of Pirtek http://www.pirtek.co.uk/ and see if they can make something up. Steve
Alec Pringle
Anywhere that deals with hydraulic equipped plant, JCBs or whatever, should be able to sort you out for peanuts . . . . . . A few months back when the power steering hoses and connectors on our 820 Rover needed replacing, the cost from Rimmers would have been well over £300, cost from the local guys was £40 in folding to have them all made up . . . . that's when you give the guys a £5 tin of biscuits for tea breaks, makes sure they'll look after the next classic enthusiast ! What goes around, comes around. Cheers Alec
TR8IAN
I'm with Alec and Steve, Your local hydraulic hose men will build you custom hoses - had one done for a Nissan which would have been nearly £5oo from the factory - small company did it in stainless braided hose for a tiny fraction of the price.
