Savannah Dog
Hi everyone, I've got my axle installed. But after I jack the front of the Diff. to align it with the drive shaft and tighten the U-bolts the axle just drops back down. What is the torque that's supposed to be applied? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

lynchpin
Hi If we are talking about a 4 with a solid axle and leaf springs then there should be a hole in the axle bracket which sits on the spring in which the head of the bolt through the spring sits in to align the axle correctly, apologies if i missunderstood the question. Savannah Dog
I figured it out Thanks anyway. The axel has mounting plates on it that determine the position of the drive shaft in relation to the drive shaft. Guess I'll have to live with the angle created. Chris59
Once the springs will be compressed, everything should be -nearly- in line.
