cvtrian
Dave - Have you tried these guys, free delivery I think (or it was when the deal was set up):- http://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/wizard/Car+Battery+Finder/results/ & we used to get discount a couple of years ago but probably now not applicable Regards Ian PS they will need your terminal configuration if different from standard. Richardtr3a
I use Lincon batteries, 01702 528711 who make an authentic battery with top up servicing needed. Their batteries last about six years. They are delivered free. Good luck. Richard & H.
RogerH
Hi Dave, I'm lazy and just pop down to Halfords HCB072 http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs-wiper-blades-batteries/batteries?startIndex=21&tabNo=1&pgId=2&initMin=25&initMax=175 Works very well. D Murton
I had a Varta E12 from Battery Megastore for the 4A earlier this year & got the discount. Doesn't look very original but cranks the car over faster than any other battery I've had Dave

stuart
069 or 072 is fine. Stuart.
Alec Pringle
086 has a tad more potential starting wallop for a high compression engine on a cold morning . . . . . Cheers Alec
Tom Boyd
Never needed more than a 069 no matter what the motor
Alec Pringle
Hi Tom, similar price batteries, but winding over 4 litres of 12.5:1cr V8 you can hear the extra rpm with the 086. Agreed 069/072 is quite adequate, 086 is an alternative for similar money and last purchase happened to be on a wee bit cheaper offer ! Whatever the size, it's worth paying for a decent manufacturer's product, saving a fiver on a second line or BoB unit is false economy . . . . Cheers Alec
Dave Ashworth
Thanks everyone. Battery on car now and fired up more or less first turn after standing for 6 weeks. All the best. Dave.
Lebro
FWIW My engine spins over very quickly on a Standard Bomb type motor - using a Yuasa 086 style battery rated at 75 AH, & 660A cranking current Bob.

Trigbush
To push this thread along and to broaden it - I am going to replace the battery on the Six this weekend. I went down the local bits shop and they had a selection of Yuasa, Varta and Bosch. But I was not entirely sure which size... Any recommendations?
Alec Pringle
Three decent enough brands, and sizes are as per Dave's TR4. Cheers Alec
