Lord Flashart
Gentlement, Recently acquired a gunson exhaust gas analyizer. The instructions don't really say what the reading should be for a TR4. Anyone else use one of these? What CO reading did you aim for? The car is running fine at the moment albeit a little rich so looking at setting it up more accurately. Paul

Jean-Marie Raedts
To pass the yearly inspection (kind of MOT) as a "regular" car in Belgium, the CO percentage for our cars should be lower then 4,5% at idle speed of the engine. My TR4A run smoothly at 5,5 %, which is a bit too rich.
Lord Flashart
Cheers chaps, I think mine is running at around.8% so a little rich. Whats interesting is that the spark plugs are still a decent grey colour and not black. Paul
Guest ntc
It should run fine at 2.
Lord Flashart
Cheers Neil, I'll have a go and let you know how I get on. Paul
cbxman
They do run better when a little rich. I set mine up a 2% as recommended, but it was too fluffy? so I reset mine up to about 3.5%. She seems happy with that. I'm not sure how accurate the Gunson is. I have found that you need to take it slowly to get a sensible reading from it.
stuart
UK MOT requirements for pre mid 93 cars is 3.5 so if you can get under that then thats fine even though we are exempt from that requirement. Stuart.
Lord Flashart
Thanks all, There is no MOT requirement at all here in Canada so I'm looking for the best running rather than regulation. Paul
