monty
What are people's thoughts on poly bushing the differential mounts? A couple of the existing rubber mounts have small cracks in them so I wish to change them, as the diff. is off the car at the moment. Poly bushes are quite a bit more expensive than rubber & I am wondering whether it might be better to stick to rubber in order for the unit to perhaps flex a little, rather than being more solid with poly bushes. Cheers, Monty.
peejay4A
Fit and forget with poly. Some say that rubber is less harsh for the diff. I tried both on my 6 and couldn't tell the difference so the 4A has poly.
ChrisR-4A
Hi Monty, I tried poly on my 4A and reverted back to standard rubber as that gave a smoother ride. However there is not a lot of clearance for the rear prop UJ and with a heavily uprated engine too much flexing may occur with rubber allowing the UJ to touch the steel cover then you need poly. silverfox4
Pete, Which blue Superpro poly are you using? Revingtons seem to have two options, one with cavities for softer ride and one regular, but not sure what sort of a ride it gives.
TR NIALL
Chris Witor for SuperPro Blue Polly Bushes,Enjoy the Ride.

The diff bushes are solid, no cavities. Maybe I'm insensitive but I couldn't tell the difference on my TR6 between rubber and solid Superpro blue.
silverfox4
Good thanks - probably need more input on these options then before I decide. Cheers
Steves_TR6
My last 6 was converted during my ownership to superpro, and they did transmit noticeably more noise to the cabin, diff whine in that case. Â Latest car has poly front mounts and rubber rear ones, as fitted years ago by racetorations, so when I did a diff refurb I replaced with the same combo. riverstar
I replaced most of my bushes to SuperPro a few months ago and found that it was a dramatic positive change, next month I am fitting the diff bushes and look forward to seeing if it makes any difference
silverfox4
You going for the void or solid diff bushes?
riverstar
Mine have voids and came as part of a complete kit I bought from Revington
silverfox4
Look forward to hearing what you think of the void diff bush when you fit them
riverstar
Look forward to hearing what you think of the void diff bush when you fit them I have now fitted all my new bushes, the suspension bushes made a dramatic difference to both the ride and handling and the steering bushes have sharpened up the steering but it is difficult to gauge how much. The diff bushes (with voids) have made for a slightly harder ride but still acceptable however it is difficult to judge on the appalling road surfaces in this area so I will go for a spin on a newly surfaced road next week. silverfox4
That's interesting - your first impressions suggest that the voided Superpro bush is a tad harder (maybe equal) to the stock rubber bush, whereas I envisaged the standard blue Superpro Bush (no voids) to be more the equivalent of the stock set-up. riverstar
It was such a lovely day today in this area that I went for a drive taking in various major and minor roads with varying road surfaces and now I don't think that there is any difference with the ride with the new diff and rack bishes apart from everything seems a lot more positive. In my opinion the complete bush package I have fitted has been the most worthwhile improvement to the car I have made during my ownership
silverfox4
Sounds encouraging - thanks for the feedback. Brilliant!
