Left indicator works fine

Side lights work fine so bulb ok

Previously rear right indicator flashed quickly but nowt at front (just one click noise)

Checked wires and earth - no change

Took front lamp unit out to check green / white wire and earth, seemed ok

Put back in

Left indicator still ok, but now right works at about half speed, but at the same time that it flashes, both rear lights also flash, as does front left (but not rear left) flasher.

???

Hi Austin

You say that the bulb is ok 'cos the sidelights work, but there are two filaments in the bulb, two contacts on the base, you haven't got a single filament bulb in there have you? could it be possible the single contact is shorting the lights/indicator together?

Yeah, that sounds right, It's just an odd symptom, so thought it may be an odd cause, mmm,...i'll think on, but you are obviously shorting from the indicator to the lighting circuit somewhere, it's just a case of finding it.

I wrote this before your 2nd reply, have you found something?

Yup, after spending the whole of the bank holiday weekend resolving roadworthyness issues incl' replacing seat belts (1 1/2 days to get a bolt out), horn, lights and flashers, the car was finally ready at 8pm last night !!!

Ho hum, only 9 months before the next sunny bank holiday - at least the hardtop will now come in handy.
