Bonnet Shut Lines

Recommended Posts

Just had my TR4A in the body shop for a couple of weeks, having a bit of paint splashed here and there, and the front of the bonnet repaired and sprayed.

One of the jobs was to try and get even bonnet shut lines down each side, but we did not have a lot of success as it does tend to get a bit tight around mid point.

However, having looked at an advert for the new TR5, published on page 24 of TR Action 276 August Issue, unless my eyes deceive me ( which is quite possible!) it looks as though even the factory might have struggled.

Does anyone out there have perfect shut lines?

Regards

Tight in the middle is one of the easier problems to fix.

Somewhere on here recently, there is a photo of Stuart doing this, with a bottle jack and some timber.

You do need to push hard in the right place.

The gaps right at he front corner are much harder to fix because lots of bits meet there.
