Bill Sturock has been sued by a former money grabbing Scottish Rally Champion Raymond Munro and his no win no fee lawyers. Munro claimed a wrong pace note caused him to crash, wrecked his life and finances. What's that about Motorsport can be dangerous?

Anyway Bill won the case and the appeals but did not get his expenses paid. He is about to lose his house and business as his assets are seized.

An urgent appeal has been set up to try and raise the funds to enable him to keep his house.

The full story is available at http://www.rallysos.co.uk Please help by making a donation. Without people like Bill there would be no motorsport.

At the risk of asking a stupid question . . . . .

This seems to be an instance that goes to the heart of the old adage that motor sport is dangerous, and the implication that all concerned take that on board and act accordingly.

Therefore a principle is at stake, a rather important one I suggest.

So why the hell isn't the MSA behind Mr Sturrock ?

Cheers

Alec

In *our* litigation-obsessed legal system the equivalent of the MSA would almost certainly have been a codefendant. Were they codefendants here? If not, what was the logic about not naming them? Do they not indemnify organizers? I sorta thought that was their point?

Admittedly, I'm not close to your sanctioning processes...

Suggest you read the details of the case in the link that Kevin posted; there are only four short pages, a five minute read.

This wasn't just a personal case, it was a defence of the "Motorsport is Dangerous" ethos and of motorsport itself.

The debt is enormous, but so is the number of motorsport enthusiasts.

It'll get my support.
