Clutch throw regression

Recommended Posts

Had a leaky slave cylinder which I replaced along with the plastic hose. Also replaced the master cylinder rubbers, bits from a service kit. Using 5.1 fluid in line with the po. Clutch throw good 0.6 ins, immediately the clutch pedal is depressed. The problem...... if I keep the clutch pedal firmly depressed, viewing the slave cylinder from under the car, the push rod is regressing progressively over 15 seconds back into the slave cylinder making the clutch drag, difficult to engage.... Does anybody have any experience of this and a cure please ? Would appear the problem lines in the hydraulics. Cheers Peter

Avoid new master cylinder pretending to be an OE item.

Get your cylinder relined with a stainless liner.

It works very well and is much smoother than a dodgy casting.

Good luck
