Wiper "Parking" Contact

Recommended Posts

Hi Julian,

I assume you are referring to the copper springy things shown in Dave's pic above.

You may need to investigate some auto-electricians to find a replacement or buy a scrap motor.

The internal track on my motor was in a bad state when I got it; so I made a new one from Printed Circuit Board (PCB) etched to the correct shape.

Come on Roger you should know that:

I have all wiper spares and complete motors.

Do you have the clip that holds the spring finger?

Make sure that your 12V supply goes to terminal 2.

If it gets swapped to terminal 1 the self-parker contact will melt

They cut the "slot" and used a contact with a key to try to stop this happening.

Hi Julian,

if you want to edit a correction put your cursor in the edit box and click - bottom righthand corner of the text box.

You change anything there. Then click save.

If you want to contact somebody direct then click on their avatar (picture) and a new page will display 'send a message'.

if you have the copper wiper and the copper track looks good then you have a 'simple' wiring fault or a serious problme (oops) problem with the wiper.
