Replacement pedal box brake switch

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find an alternative brake light switch that I'm sure was featured in these august columns a good while ago. It's the mechanical switch that bolts to the padal box previously supplied in nasty 1960's white plastic. (Mine's evedtually melted beyond repair)

If memory serves me right the alternative one was a brass 'thing' possibly from a Volvo or BMW.

Does this ring a bell with anybody else? I can't get the search engine to play ball with me.

Thanks Alan I guess mine was a later type or even a replacement. Round white cartridge type.

About 25 years ago I did a similar repair to you, but I used sawn down golf tee and a bit of mechano. Never in a month of Sundays did I think would be a part of my life, or that my Heath Robinson repair would have to last as long as it did. I think at that time it was the very low of spares supply. Cox and Buckles were in Balham, and I was raiding the last of the parts bins in local BL main dealership Epsom. One of the really good decisions I made was to buy one of those never-ending warrentee batteries. In the end they bought me out for several hundred pounds. Ha Ha.
