Hi all, I need the paint code for a suitable British Racing Green for a 1962 TR4, there seems to be all different codes so I need some clarity. I know this topic has no doubt been covered but I would be grateful for any thoughts, opinions etc.

Regards

Ron

Hi Ron

I found this when I was searching on the interweb for the colours for my 4a, I don't know if it will help or not (http://www.teglerizer.com/triumphcolors/#Red%20color) and there is also this site by Paul Anderson and it has paint chips for the 4a's (http://tr4a.weebly.com/triumph-tr-pdf-downloads.html), (http://spitlist.info/Paint.html) and (http://www.trregisterfrance.com/meca/paint.htm). Hope it helps.

Any use?

http://www.autopaintsbrighton.co.uk/triumph-classic--vintage-car-paint-cellulose-codes--colours-596-p.asp

Conifer green I think is the dark green for a TR4.

GN29 is the code of the very dark BRG used on MG of that period. GN25 is the lighter BRG from the early 50's.

Cheers

I know its not a tr4 colour but I do like the Carmine Red and I'm seriously thinking of painting my 4a that colour when it comes time to paint instead of the usual signal red.

any thoughts?

Hi Bob,

I've not seen any pics of a carmine red TR4, red is my wife's favorite colour but she thinks signal is too light and like's the carmine red as its darker and deeper, she's picked the name for her ''Ruby'' which fits really well so I'm glad she's getting involved.

If anyone out there has a carmine red TR4 could you post a picture so I can see how the colour suits.
