McMuttley
Quick one chaps The car is away so I cannot measure the existing, but need to order a drill bit to cut a new hole for the choke cable. Is there a standard size. I could use a step drill til I get there, but slightly nervous of colliding with other wirey stuff behind the dash Cheers
stuart
5/8" or whatever grommet you can find to fit the hole. Stuart.
McMuttley
Thanks Stu, this is to relocate the choke on the dash rather than a hole through the bulkhead - is 5/8 still the same ?
stuart
Ah cant help you there dont have easy access to a dash at the moment. But IIRC its not a straight hole it has a flat to one side. Stuart.
foster461
Half inch hole with a flat at the top (LHD TR3A). The hole to the left of the ignition is 5/8 with the flat on the bottom. Edited July 14, 2014 by foster461
Rodbr
Hi Austin, IMHO you are running a risk if your dash is alloy as it may distort when you turn and lock off the choke. The centre consol provides adequate support and it is possible to get the choke cable to fit and better still, work as designed. FWIW don't do it as it will look terrible and you will eventually wish you had made the correct choke fit and have an extra hole to fill.
