Fireman049
Having reinstalled my high inertia starter motor to my 3A I notice that I have a small yellow wire with a female spade connector hanging loose. I've forgotten what this connects to. This wire is connected to the main cable terminal. Pressing the starter button only produces a clicking sound in the starter solenoid. Tom. peejay4A
That'll be the operating wire for the preegagement solenoid on the starter. There should be a receptacle on the starter to accept the Lucar connector. Edited July 9, 2014 by peejay4A

RogerH
Hi Tom, Does your High 'Inertia' starter take a long time to get going. I couldn't stand the wait so I got a high 'torque' starter instead. Roger
peejay4A
High Torquer. Wasn't that a Seinfeld episode?

Don H.
...Where did you get that hat... Pot, meet kettle. (I did have a Lucas high inertia starter on my car for many years. Took 31 of 'em (years, not starters) to get the thing going again.)
