Hi there,

Just looking for some advice. My dad has just lost his driving licence due to ill health and we now have his TR3a sitting in the garage. We really want to sell it on as every time he looks at it he gets upset that he can no longer drive it. He also has loads of spare parts for it in the loft.

Anyone have any advice on best ways to go about advertising it etc.

Thanks in advance

Sad to read that it's your father's ill health that stopped him from driving his TR.

The good thing is, that you've knocked on the right door on this forum. First 'port of call' so to speak.

First, put up a load of pics on this site: car, parts, details (rust / no rust). Sit back and enjoy the comments made by forumites here.

Second, try to get in touch with fellow members (real people!) of this forum: so called 'group members' - provided you're British off course. The addresses of the Group(s) closest to your address or the place where the car is stored can be found on the homepage (I think) of the TR website. Real members can give you proper advise when you ask them to assess the car.

After that, it's time to put a pricetag on the car! Not earlier. And I would start to advertise the car here, on the sales part of this forum. You could also decide to split: parts and car separately.

Hope this helps.

Hi Who ever you are!

Very sad to hear about your Dad and his being unable to drive his prize possession.

I am 76 next birthday but fortunately am still able to enjoy my life behind the wheel of my TR3A, so I think I know how he feels when he looks at it in the garage. The advice given on this forum will give him comfort to know that his car will be cared for by an enthusiast like himself, and that you ,or he, will get the kind of money it is truly worth

Best of luck

Hi there,

My name is Tanya, my dad is Graham! We are based in Norwich so bit far from you Carl!

Thank you Dave. Lovely to hear that there are still people out there enjoying their TRs. I watched my dad lovingly restore his TR from a wreck while I was growing up, I am now 36! Unfortunately no one in the family would love it like he did so better to sell it on.

Will aim to get for info on it and post on here soon.

Tanya
