john.r.davies
The emphasis is on training, not in actual play. I'm certain that the MSA, let alone the Dept. of Transport, will ban something that blanks your vision for up to 90% of the time. But Nike have elected not to market them anymore: http://nikestrobegoggles.com/ Maybe these 'cool' specs have leaked out onto the street and had just the effect you might expect on drivers. Peter Cobbold
AFAIK the ice hockey players dont wear the specs in a game! Nike's cessation opens the door to pirated chinese versions, the electronics and optical shuttering may well be just a variant of 3D specs. If an 18% performance gain in achieved then I doubt F1 teams have ignored it - training with them on simulators maybe. No mention of how the training works on the retina/brain.
