Hi All,

I have fit an Alternator to my 1956 TR3. It is a TR7 type alternator, the 2 wire type. Now here's the thing!

The ammeter shows a charge but the red light won't go out.

Any ideas chaps???

Regards,

Tony

Tony - I suspect a missing link!

If you e-mail me (ifcornish@btinternet.com), I'll send you a copy of my article on conversion to alternator, which was originally published in TRAction 118 and can be found on the Technicalities CD. It covers installations on TR2/3 and on TR4, and is based upon my use of a TR7-type alternator (although the guidance is applicable to other types as well).

I am told, by people who have used it as a guide, that it is helpful.
