TR Lincs Search and Rescue

Visit and Tour of the Search and Rescue Helicopter Base

An exciting opportunity to get up close and personal to a Search and Rescue Helicopter operated by Bristows based on the edge of Humberside Airport for our first run of 2018. This visit, kindly arranged by David Taylor, will give TR Lincs members rare access to a service that many of us have heard about but never actually (hopefully) had to call on.

There are two options for those who wish to visit.

1. For those who live south of Wragby, meet at the Market Place Car Park from 9.00am for a 9.15am departure to the base.

2. For those who wish to travel direct to the base, please aim to arrive at the SAR base main gate located off the C137 at Kirmington. After passing Humberside Airport on the A18 travelling towards Grimsby turn right at the crossroads signposted Grasby 4, Caistor 8. The gate to the base is approximately 800 yards on your right (OS map reference 53.576198, -0.337651)

On arrival at 10am we will be welcomed and treated to refreshments followed by a guided tour of the facility.

Following our visit we will depart for the Marrowbone and Cleaver owned by Lincolnshire's own Guy Martin where some of Guy's famous record breaking bikes and part of the famous wall of death are on display.

IMPORTANT BIT

As we are visiting an operational airbase you will be required to give you and your passengers names in advance in order that passes can be prepared for you as well as your requirements for luncheon.

Can you please contact David Taylor directly via dt.64@live.com to register your participation.

See you there - over and out!
