Wharfedale Spring Clean Run May 2017

Wharfedale Spring Clean Run. Our season opener. Traditional beginning of the driving year run in God's own county. An exploration of the Bronte country.

"We will meet at Ponden Mill which is in the bottom of the valley approximately 2 miles west of Haworth, at 9 am for a 10 am start. The post code is BD22 0HP. If you put this into sat nav it will take you to the the Ponden reservoir. The mill is in the bottom of the valley before you reach the reservoir. There should be a small chalk board sign on the edge of the road. There is a large tarmac car park just past the cafe.

The cafe will be open and it is run by a lovely couple called Richard and Barbara Trainer. They have a TR6 but it is in need of repair and is not on the road. They are very keen to have a look at our cars before we set off on the run.

The run is an anti clockwise route via Laneshawbridge, Trawden, Colden, Blackshaw Head, Walk Mill, Portsmouth, Cornholm, Todmorden, Littleborough, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Oxenhope and Stanbury. There will be a short comfort break just outside Todmorden at around the half way point. It is approximately 57 miles and should take about 2.5 hours, including the comfort break.

If I could get an idea of the number of people who will be having lunch at the Old Silent Inn after the run, by 30th April , this would be most helpful. As we are not pre ordering ,the assumption is that most people will be having the sunday roast, but other options are available including vegetarian."
