This year we will be based at the campsite at Mellington Hall, near Montgomery. This is approx 5 miles from Montgomery and 2 miles from Churchstoke. The camp site is located on the B4385 Bishops Castle to Montgomery road about 1 mile south of the junction with the A489
Whilst camping will be an element, it is not compulsory and other accommodation is available. Mellington Hall itself is a hotel – see www.mellingtonhallhotel.com Please see page 2 for some more suggestions.

In the Doomsday book Mellington is recorded as a Saxon moated manor house with a watermill. The estate was owned by the Browne family from the early 1600s until it was sold to a Mr Wright, a prosperous Liverpool merchant, in the 1860s. The existing Victorian Gothic Manor was designed a built by Evan Powell. Archirect of Welshpool, for Mr Wright and completed in 1876. The park was created across the Ancient Monument of Offa's Dyke – but who cared then!

Please bear in mind that these dates are into the School Holidays so it would be prudent to make your booking as soon as possible.
Arrive at Mellington Hall in the afternoon. Friday night is BBQ Night. So bring along a lump of meat or whatever else you wish to eat and sling it on a BarBie – there will be several available. Salad and bread will be provided. BYO drinks. Alternatively, you may have a more sophisticated meal at Mellington Hall.
A run into Mid Wales and a visit to Lake Vyrnmwy. Evening meal at Mellcott Hall or at the campsite as you wish
Morning run and visit. Late Sunday lunch around 3pm
This is a non-competitive Social Event and is organised under the latest instructions of the TR Register. It will be necessary to sign the TR Register's disclaimer before the start of the runs.
